Thomas Morey brings thoughtful balance to his parcels across Chassagne-Montrachet, favouring steady vineyard work and a calm, precise touch in the cellar. His philosophy centres on expression through restraint.
The whites show tension and poise, with citrus brightness, fine texture and a gentle mineral line that runs through the range. They are elegant without austerity, delivering beautifully judged Burgundy that rewards both immediate enjoyment and patient cellaring. Thomas Morey remains a benchmark for those who appreciate restraint, balance and true Chassagne expression.
The Morey family have been woven into the vineyards of Chassagne Montrachet for generations, tracing their roots in the village back to the seventeenth century. For many years the family’s holdings were grouped under the banner of Domaine Bernard Morey, but in 2006 the estate was amicably divided between Bernard’s sons Thomas and Vincent. Thomas took on a selection of prime parcels and quietly began to express them in his own, more restrained way. His domaine feels like a natural continuation of the family story, bringing a slightly cooler, more finely detailed edge to sites that the Moreys have known intimately for decades.
