Although Thibault Liger Belair comes from a family long established in Nuits Saint Georges, his own domaine is a relatively recent creation. After an early career outside the cellar, he returned to wine and in 2001 took charge of family vineyards while adding key parcels of his own. From the start he committed to organic and then biodynamic farming and extended his reach beyond the Côte de Nuits into the Beaujolais crus, where he believed the terroirs were undervalued. His approach has breathed new life into old vines and brought a distinctly modern sensibility to some very traditional sites. The domaine now stands as a bridge between past and future, rooted in heritage but unafraid to think differently.
