Albert Grivault

Albert GrivaultBurgundy, France

Domaine Grivault, best known for its exceptional holdings in Meursault, is a classic estate whose wines balance structure with quiet depth. The family’s long stewardship of the celebrated Clos des Perrières has shaped their identity, and their dedication to honouring this terroir shows in the precision of their vineyard work and traditional, thoughtful winemaking.

Meursaults from Grivault show depth beneath their mineral line, revealing layers of fruit that build slowly. They are wines of calm power, grounded in place and crafted with long-term vision.

Domaine Grivault’s modern history began in the 1870s, when Albert Grivault purchased the Clos des Perrières in Meursault, a vineyard that soon became the cornerstone of the estate. Over the following decades the family added further parcels in and around Meursault, but the Clos remained its crown jewel and the guiding reference for the house style. Generation after generation kept a firm hand on both the farming and the classical cellar work, preferring to let time and terroir do most of the heavy lifting. Today the domaine still feels defined by that original acquisition, its identity built around structured, long-lived wines that speak clearly of their stone rich soils.
