Domaine Lafouge brings warmth and sincerity to Auxey-Duresses, producing wines that echo the village’s rustic charm and subtle beauty. Gilles Lafouge tends his vineyards with care, allowing each parcel to speak with its own accent.
His wines feel welcoming, with supple fruit, soft structure and a refreshing authenticity. They capture the easy appeal of Auxey while offering enough detail to reward closer attention.
The Lafouge family have been in Auxey Duresses since the seventeenth century, long enough to feel completely woven into the fabric of the village. Over the nineteenth and twentieth centuries they slowly enlarged their estate, taking on parcels in Auxey itself as well as in neighbouring Meursault and Pommard. For much of that time the domaine kept a fairly low profile, its wines known mostly to those who sought them out. Gilles Lafouge represents the latest chapter in that story, tending the family vineyards with the same grounded approach but bringing a little more clarity and lift to the wines. It remains a house where the charm lies in authenticity rather than polish.
