Domaine Rossignol-Trapet is a proudly biodynamic estate that brings a thoughtful, gentle touch to the vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin. The brothers Nicolas and David have long championed a style that prioritises purity and natural balance, resulting in wines that feel grounded and deeply connected to their terroirs. Their work in the vines shows great respect for the environment and for the identity of each parcel.
The reds are graceful and finely knit, with lifted aromatics and precise fruit that reveal themselves gradually. Rossignol-Trapet is a favourite among those who appreciate Burgundy with delicacy and authenticity.
Domaine Rossignol Trapet came into being in 1990, when the long established Trapet estate in Gevrey Chambertin was divided between family members and Nicolas and David Rossignol received a significant share of the vineyards. Rather than simply carry on as before, the brothers used the moment to reframe the domaine under their joint name and gradually steer it towards organic, then biodynamic, farming. That decision, taken well before such practices became fashionable, has had a profound impact on the style and feel of the wines. Today the estate stands as a thoughtful blend of deep family roots and a clear, environmentally minded philosophy.
