Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s most established and respected names, known for a steady, terroir-driven approach that spans an extraordinary range of vineyards from Chablis to the Mâconnais. With deep family heritage and long-standing relationships across the Côte d’Or, Jadot brings a calm, classical touch to both viticulture and winemaking, crafting wines that are polished, harmonious and true to their origins. Whether a regional bottling or a grand cru, the house delivers clarity, balance and a dependable sense of Burgundian identity.
Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, who established the business as both a négociant and a vineyard owner, with an early cornerstone in the Beaune Clos des Ursules. Over the years the house expanded its reach through the purchase of key sites and the patient building of long term relationships with growers across Burgundy. In the mid twentieth century the Gagey family took on the management of the company, guiding it through a period of significant growth while keeping the emphasis on clarity and terroir expression. Today Jadot stands as one of the region’s most recognisable names, its history marked more by steady, thoughtful development than by dramatic reinvention.
