The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Combottes is once again a highlight of the range, exhibiting inviting aromas of cherries and raspberries mingled with rose petals and sweet spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping palate that's seamless and suave, with a fresh core of fruit, super-refined tannins and a mineral finish.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Combottes 1er Cru comes from vines up to 70 years old. It has a very expressive bouquet with pure black cherry, tayberry fruit, crushed stone, and light forest floor scents. The medium-bodied palate has good concentration with a mixture of red and black fruit. The new oak is a little dominant towards the finish - it's one cuvée where I feel that less would have revealed the elegance that is here. Let's see how this ages and absorbs the oak.
