The Carillon family have been intertwined with Puligny Montrachet since the sixteenth century, making them one of the village’s longest standing winegrowing dynasties. The modern contours of the domaine emerged in the twentieth century under Louis Carillon, whose careful work and well sited vineyards cemented the family’s reputation. When the estate was eventually divided between his sons Jacques and François, Jacques took on a selection of prime parcels and quietly set about expressing them in his own way.
