Wine Critic Reviews
Dark violet. Expressive, open-knit aromas of dark berries, roasted plum, cured tobacco, espresso, rose oil and licorice, plus a sexy oak spice accent (this was raised in 25% new French hogsheads). Broad and luscious, with sweet, deep flavors of blackberry and black cherry liqueur, spicecake and molasses. The smooth tannins are perfectly integrated into the wine's fruit and barely make an appearance until late on the aftertaste.

The 2004 Shiraz Bad Impersonator (which sees about 25% new oak) reveals a Pinot Noir-like sensitivity. From older vines, it displays a dark ruby/purple color, wonderful elegance, and plenty of creme de cassis, blackberry, espresso roast, and white chocolate notes as well as a hint of barrique. Consume it over the next 5-6 years. Importer: Paterno Imports, Lake Bluff, IL; tel. (847) 604-8900
