The 2011 Gattinara Tre Vigne has fruit that has been sourced from three of the estate's most important parcels. The wine embraces the warmer temperatures of the vintage with exuberant fruit, dark cherry, plum and a tightly clean and velvety texture. This vintage offers slightly softer tannins and a robust, generous mouthfeel. The wine is ready to drink now but could easily hold for another decade without losing its freshness.

The 2011 Gattinara Tre Vigne is an unusually ripe, generous Gattinara, a combination of the vintage and also the style of this bottling. Macerated cherry, leather, spice, menthol and licorice are nicely pushed forward. Cream and layered in the glass, the 2011 is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years, even if it doesn't have the nerve that is such a signature of the best wines of the appellation.
