The 2012 Santayme, Denis Durantou's 100% Merlot from clay and limestone soils in Saint-Emilion, is a soft, supple wine to drink now and over the next few years. Dark red cherry, plum, leather and tobacco flesh out nicely. The finish is a bit rustic, but this is otherwise a solid effort.
