Bright full red-ruby. The nuanced, scented nose combines raspberry, violet and a minty nuance. Suave, juicy and fresh, with harmonious but lively acidity giving shape and freshness to the concentrated dark plum, minty and floral flavors. This subtly intense midweight finishes fresh and mineral, featuring substantial but smooth tannins and lovely, lingering red cherry perfume.

The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino delivers the goods, albeit in a simple and matter-of-fact manner. What the wine lacks in complexity, it delivers in dried cherry flavors, spice, grilled herbs and snappy acidity. This is a mid-weight effort that is steady and consistent but not terribly exciting. Some 45,000 bottles were produced.
