The 2022 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese is clear, deep and complex on the dense and savory nose that shows lemon zest aromas. Rich and lush yet also refined on the palate, this is a very elegant, textured and savory, saline as well as grippy Spätlese with mouth-filling fruit and mineral tension and a good, fresh and savory finish. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 12 23 in January 2025.

The 2022 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese is shy, but stone fruit shimmers through; think white peach and golden Mirabelle. The palate falls into step with citrus-edged, golden Mirabelle plums, fresh, almost sorbet-like in their heightened impression. The beauty here lies in restraint and absolutely harmonious balance. This is not much sweeter than a Kabinett, just a little fuller, rounder, but still svelte, elegant, full in flavor, light on its feet and medium sweet only. Wonderful. (Medium)
