Gianni Brunelli, Toscana Amor Costante, IGT 2019

Here's a new (for me) and frankly delightful discovery from Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto. The 2019 Amor Costante is pleasure to drink, with one glass of wine inviting the next pour. This blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Sangiovese manages an almost full-bodied approach while maintaining terrific balance and elegance. It offers a long list of black and purple fruit aromas with blackberry and plum, plus the additional textural fiber you would expect of those flavors, along with soft spice and smoke. The finish is stitched together by tart fruit flavors and firm tannins. This is a 2,252-bottle release.
