Produced mainly from purchased wine and grapes, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone is true to its Northern Rhône roots in being more than 80% Syrah, even if the bulk of it comes from the Ardeche and around Cairanne. The nose revolves around jammy cherries and notes of earthy spice, but the medium to full-bodied palate is more Syrah-like, framed by soft tannins and fading a bit quickly on the finish.
