The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis en la Rue Vergy has a generous bouquet that handles the 30% new oak better than some of Gros's other Village Crus. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Yes, it's a little toasty, but here the wood is not so forceful. This just needs a little more complexity and terroir expression on the finish.
