The 2024 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a very perfumed, floral bouquet with violet-infused red fruit, light touches of tobacco and forest floor surfacing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with finely sculpted tannins, quite tensile, not powerful but you must doff your casquette to admire its purity and simmering spiciness on the aftertaste. This might actually surpass the previous vintage.

From one of the sites that suffered the most from mildew in this growing season, the 2024 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) represents only 3.5 barrels produced from two hectares. The crop of the bottom part of the clos, indeed, was almost entirely wiped out, so this bottling is dominated by Jadot's holdings higher up the slope. Offering up notes of plums, orange zest, root beer and cola, it's medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and dense, with a thick, layered profile that reflects the low yields.
