The 2024 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, amounting to a single 450-litre cask, has a nose that seems…sedate. Pretty red berry fruit, touches of peony and rose petal—it does not want to create a fuss. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant, sculpted tannins, just a hint of mocha commingling with the red berry fruit, clove and light white pepper notes furnishing the finish. Doesn't quite have the persistency of the Clos-des-Bèze but it should drink well for 12 to 15 years.
