Medium ruby. Rather cool aromas of crystallized raspberry, bitter cherry, blackberry, licorice and pepper. Juicy and peppery in the mouth but lacking pliancy; in a distinctly clenched style, with a faint sour streak. Slightly tough tannins and elevated acids give this wine a rather uncompromising firmness.

Some attractive aromatics of forest floor, red currants, and herbs are followed by a relatively lean, medium-bodied wine that finishes with some hollowness and astringent tannin. I don’t think this is going anywhere, but it will certainly hold up and survive for another 10-15 years.
