Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot is a leading light of the Côte de Beaune, crafting wines that marry drive and precision with generous, beautifully defined fruit. Jean-Marc’s deep experience shows in his sensitive approach to both vineyard and cellar work, where he balances tradition with a keen instinct for freshness and clarity. The result is a range that feels polished, vibrant and full of character.
The whites, especially, show drive and precision, offering citrus, spice and a mineral thread that runs cleanly from start to finish. The reds share this sense of poise, presenting pure fruit and well-judged structure. Boillot remains a go-to estate for those who appreciate Burgundies that combine accessibility with genuine finesse.
Jean Marc Boillot’s domaine is the result of both inheritance and a decisive break. After working at the family estate, he chose to strike out on his own in 1985, taking with him an allocation of family vineyards and a clear vision for a fresher, more vibrant style. He then added to those original parcels through a mix of smart purchases and long-term grower relationships, gradually extending the estate’s reach across the Côte de Beaune. A shift in the 1990s towards tighter, more focused winemaking helped define the house style that people recognise today. The domaine’s history reads as a blend of tradition and independence, guided by a winemaker very sure of what he wants in the glass.
