The Cathiard name is synonymous with seductive, impeccably composed Vosne-Romanée. Sébastien Cathiard continues the estate’s meticulous tradition, bringing precision and poise to every stage of the winemaking process.

The wines are sumptuous yet refined, combining vibrant fruit, satin-like texture and the unmistakable perfume of Vosne. Cathiard remains a benchmark for Burgundy that delivers both intensity and elegance in perfect balance.

The Cathiard family settled in Vosne Romanée in the nineteenth century, farming vines in and around the village at a time when most growers still sold their grapes to merchants. It was Sylvain’s father who first began to bottle under the family name, but Sylvain himself expanded the domaine’s reach and sharpened its identity, piecing together a collection of small but enviable parcels. Over the years he pushed the wines towards ever greater purity and finesse before handing the estate to his son Sébastien in the mid 2000s. Under Sébastien’s watch the domaine has continued that upward curve, its history reading as a steady climb rather than a series of abrupt shifts.
