Vineyard Visits

We encourage as many clients as possible to visit wine-growing regions. A couple of days' diversion whilst on holiday on the continent can offer a great deal of pleasure, from the grandiose elegance of Chateau Pichon-Longueville-Baron near Bordeaux, the Hospice de Beaune in Burgundy, a tour along the Loire or a wander around the old Cathedral of Reims in Champagne is time well spent.

An appointed visit to one of the properties with whom we deal can be a really eye-opening experience. Tasting the new vintage out of a barrel with the owner of a 300-year-old cellar beneath a Domaine in Burgundy is an experience you will not forget. We are happy to use our network of contacts for our clients' benefit and pleasure.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is not only steeped in winemaking tradition but is an unusually large region to cover when tasting.  You could never do it justice in just one trip!

Bordeaux, with its centuries-old history, from the grand chateaux of the Medoc to the tiny estates of Pomerol, there is a huge divergence of character and personality to explore and enjoy. With our depth of contacts, we would always be willing to make some recommendations and introductions to make your trip a memorable one.

Burgundy

The narrow corridor of the Cotes D’or is only two miles wide but stretches nearly 100 miles north to south. Don’t be fooled by the perceived simplicity of these estates, as behind some of these simple facades there are often majestic cellars housing some of the most fabulous wine in the world.

Italy

From the beautiful rolling hills of Piedmont, home to the finest Nebbiolo in the world, to the rolling Tuscan hills of Chianti and Brunello, a tour through some of Italy’s wine regions with their wonderful gastronomy and a warm welcome is one of life’s true pleasures. With so many unsung heroes to discover, there is a plethora of choice and joy that awaits the visitor! What could be nicer than sitting on a terrace with a plate of prosciutto and a glass of something delicious on a late summer’s afternoon!
