The 2018 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru has an open, generous, lively and quite seductive nose, with red cherries, crushed strawberry and subtle marmalade scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, bold tannins that frame the layered red fruit commingling with orange rind, white pepper and marmalade. There is a slight graininess to the texture that I personally like. The more I am acquainted with this Corton, the more I warm to its personality with its almost Sauternes-like texture.
