The 2022 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from 60% old vines planted in 1944, representing 40% of the volume and including whole clusters. The rest are young vines planted in 1992 that were de-stemmed. The detailed bouquet has a mixture of red and black fruit, truffle and sous-bois aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine and slightly powdery tannins and gentle grip, yet there is certainly good backbone with layers of peppery black fruit on the finish. It is very promising, but it will require several years in bottle.
