The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis En La Rue de Vergy includes 80% whole bunches. A sprinkling of black pepper and pencil box filters through the rather sultry black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, as you would expect from a Morey. There’s a light saline touch with hints of white pepper towards the finish. What you might call a "solid" Morey-Saint-Denis without the frills, but it does the job.
