The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru has a showy, fruit-laden bouquet of copious dark cherries, cassis and lightly honeyed aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin and quite a lot of extract that renders the finish a little labored. This year, it is not one of my favorite cuvées from the domaine, and I hope it will improve.
